The first phase of a long-planned rebuild is under way at the former Brynwood Golf and Country Club and plans are in place to re-open the course in April following a Rees Jones renovation.

It’s taken a decade to reach Step 1 and the end goal is to create a private golf community.

“I bought out a partner over the summer and I was able to jump start the project, so right now the golf course is under renovation,” said managing partner Jeffrey Mendell, who rebranded the property the Summit Club at Armonk. “We’re going to be doing modern, luxury condos with 20- and 30-mile views out over the golf course. The residential component is going to be stunning.”

The master plan includes 73 luxury condominiums in seven, three-story buildings located on the highest point of the property. Granoff Architects in Greenwich, Conn. did the design. Parking for each building will be in an underground garage.
